Atlanta officially opened the Millennium Gate at Atlantic Station on July 4, 2008. The gate, which resembles the Arc de Triomphe, also contains a museum. Despite being eight years late at welcoming the new millennium, the gate was honored with a parade, patriotic music and fireworks.
