It was a year ago last march that Republican Congressman Pete Sessions held a fundraiser in Las Vegas. Now as the location of the fundraiser has become widely known, conservative activists in Sessions’ Texas district are expressing their distaste.

Sessions held the fundraiser in March 2007 at a Las Vegas Strip Club called Forty Deuce. 

His critics have said it was an inappropriate location for a Congressman from their district. Sessions campaign responded with, “It’s a retro club that’s as risqué as a 1940s film.” 

Forty Deuce, calls itself “a salute to America’s burlesque show pop culture.”

For Las Vegas, Forty Deuce is mainstream or even a little tame. For a Congressman’s fundraiser, it is a little risqué. 

Congressman Sessions had a 96% rating by the American Conservative Union in 2007. Obviously, fundraiser locations were not on the rating list.
