A law currently debated in the Iranian Parliament would impose the death penalty for cyber crimes. The death penalty could be applied to those convicted of promoting corruption, prostitution and apostasy on the internet. ISNA, the Iranian news agency reported that the law is meant to “toughen punishment for harming mental security in society.”
