It is not often that a candidate will depict his opponent being adulated by thousands of people. That is exactly what a new campaign ad by John McCain is doing for Barack Obama. While the use of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton is meant to connote political lightweight for Obama, celebrity stature in a politician is not a bad thing. John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan both played it to victory and political power. It is a wry attempt to turn the Obama effect to McCain’s advantage. Nevertheless, this is not an ad McCain wants voters to think deeply about.
