Democratic Governor Says Vote For Barr If You Are Absolutely Pro-Gun

Brian SchweitzerMontana Governor Brian Schweitzer, a Democrat, has endorsed Barack Obama. It does not always sound like that though. Schweitzer is heavily pro-gun. The National Rifle Association has given Obama one of its lowest ratings and McCain a mediocre rating at best. On their website, the NRA says “Barack Obama is a serious threat to Second Amendment liberties.”

Apparently, Schweitzer is aware of that. The best he can say about Obama and guns is a negative endorsement on guns, “He ain’t going to take your gun away. He ain’t ever going to take your gun away.”

Persuasive fellow that Schweitzer.

Schweitzer, while maintaining his loyalties to Obama says if guns are your issue, then you are not going to like Obama or McCain.

So what is the option?

Schweitzer says vote for Barr “if you’re absolutely not going to vote for McCain or Obama on guns.” Yes, that is a Democratic Governor advocating a vote for former Republican Congressman, now Libertarian Presidential candidate Bob Barr.

That is not a ringing endorsement to go out and knock down doors for Barr. Nevertheless, it is rare to hear a sitting Governor of one of the major parties hint that voters should buck the party line and vote for a third party candidate, especially in a close election like this year.
