Politics certainly does make some strange bedfellows. Rapper Daddy Yankee has endorsed John McCain. They appeared jointly at an Arizona high school. In itself there is nothing odd about Daddy Yankee’s endorsement of McCain. However, it gets real odd when one of Daddy Yankee’s hit songs is thrown into the mix. McCain introduced Daddy Yankee as married for fifteen years and has two kids (the nice family values stuff). He should have stopped there. McCain also mentioned that the students would know Daddy Yankee’s hit song “Gasolina.”
Perhaps McCain thinks this fits with his energy policy on offshore drilling. If he does, then he needs an interpreter. Gasolina is Puerto Rican slang for sperm. Here is the YouTube link to the music video. That should erase any doubts that the song is about souped up cars that need gas. Below is the introduction by McCain for Daddy Yankee.
Could this be a hint that McCain does not plan on picking Mitt Romney or another family values running mate? Well, John Edwards is still available.
