Australian State Government To Promote The Positive Side Of Prostitution

The state government of Queensland, Australia is allocating $400,000 to promote the virtues of prostitution. The Prostitution Licensing Authority, Queensland’s sex industry regulator wants to portray a more balanced view of prostitution. The government wants to help sex workers overcome the stigma attached to prostitution.

The program will also offer free or discounted safe-sex products and sexual health education programs for sex workers.

A government review of prostitution found that the needs of prostitutes varied dramatically. The sole proprietor had a need for “cheap sex work supplies” and an “ugly mugs list.” Asian prostitutes expressed a need for English classes for sex workers. One can only imagine the words taught in that English class.
