John McCain earned Foolocracy’s “Fool of the Week” for forgetting that Spain is in Europe, not the Western Hemisphere.
During an interview with a Miami radio station, McCain was asked if he would be willing to meet with Spain’s Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. McCain eluded the question, ending it with praise of Mexican President Calderon. When the interviewer reminded McCain that she was asking about Spain, McCain proceeded to talk about “working with leaders in the hemisphere that are friends” and the importance of Latin America to the U.S.
