Election Mathematicians estimate there is a 1 in a 100 chance that the Presidential election will end in a statistical tie in the Electoral College. If that happened, the election would then be decided in the House of Representatives in January.
One of the most likely scenarios for a tie is if Obama carries all the states John Kerry did in 2004, but adds Colorado, Iowa and one electoral vote from Nebraska. This is a highly probably scenario as Obama has leads in both Colorado and Iowa. Nebraska , like Maine, lets each Congressional District select its electoral vote. Obama is currently running even in the Congressional District that has Omaha.
