Ron Paul And Third Party Candidates Agree On Platform Of Unity

What do a member of the Libertarian Party, the Green Party, the Constitution Party, an independent candidate and an unsuccessful Republican candidate for President have in common?

A lot besides a mutual dislike for John McCain and Barack Obama.

Ralph Nader, Bob Barr, Cynthia McKinney, Chuck Baldwin and Ron Paul have agreed to a joint appearance at the National Press Club today.

Paul is urging voters to vote for one of these candidates instead of the major party nominees.

Besides a joint appearance, the most amazing development is the joint platform that the four agree to. The four third-party candidates have agreed to balance the federal budget, bring American troops home, protect civil liberties and investigate the Federal Reserve.

A show of unity between such disparate groups may never have happened in American Presidential politics before. It reveals a very strong underlining opposition to the major parties. This appearance undercuts both the McCain and Obama camps claim to change.

As Ron Paul stated the two candidates “have no substantive differences on important issues.”
