Top Virginia Republicans Upset That McCain Campaign Ignores Them

Virginia Republicans are angry that the McCain campaign ignored their advice on how to win Virginia.

“They ignore you. They don’t keep their commitments. And word is that the party has a clock counting down the days till it can throw the McCain people out of state party’s headquarters,” said one party official.

GOP officials in Virginia questioned McCain’s decision to support the $700 billion bailout and not to use the Reverend Jeremiah Wright as a campaign tactic.

Republican Party officials say they do not get phone calls returned or responses to suggestions. They say that even offers of volunteers are ignored.
