The Mayor of Greeley, Colorado showed a $3 bill of Barack Obama in Middle Eastern clothing to a student at a school cafeteria.
Greeley Mayor Ed Clark gave the $3 bill to a girl who asked if he had an extra dollar for her lunch. She showed the bill to classmates.
Clark called the bill “political satire” but has since destroyed it.
“I apologized to the family,” Clark said. “I think I’ll leave it where it is.”
Clark, a former police officer, has a long history of controversial actions including snatching a boy off a motorbike and handcuffing and holding another one for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Clark has a permanent restraining order against him regarding the boy on the motorbike.
Clark defeated the incumbent mayor 61% to 39%.
