Obama And McCain Campaigns Ditch Unfavorable Journalists From Campaign Entourage

Both the McCain and Obama campaigns are playing hardball with journalists in the last days of the campaign. Both campaigns have barred journalists or media outlets that they deem as biased from their planes.

Obama has recently removed reporters from the Washington Times, New York Post and Dallas Morning News. The Obama campaign has stated that space would be made available on the campaign bus where possible and has suggested that these journalists hitch a ride with Joe Biden’s plane.

The McCain campaign has previously barred New York Times reporter Maureen Dowd and Time Magazine correspondent Joe Klein.

Is it anything to be surprised about? Not really. The campaigns are in the endgame now with only a few days of the election left.  Neither campaign wants to give access to a journalist who wants to break a story that will break a campaign.
