Both the Obama and McCain computers were hacked sometime around mid-year. The Secret Service, FBI and White House were involved in investigating the hacking which targeted files involving the campaigns evolution on policy issues.

Both political campaigns were informed that the hackers were not their political opponents but a “foreign entity”. Word is that the Obama campaign thought the hackers came from Russia or China.

The feeling is that a foreign government was involved and sought information to give it an advantage in future negotiations.
