Bush Selected “Fool Of The Week” For Liberator And Peacemaker Comments

George Bush earned “Fool of the Week” for his comment that he wished history to remember him “as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace.” Maybe history will hold a different view of George Bush, but today there are not many people who see him as a liberator or peacemaker.

With the Taliban resurgent in Afghanistan, and Iraq’s ultimate fate unresolved, it is not likely that many of the 50 million inhabitants of those two countries see him as a liberator. The Kurds may, but they are the exception.

That Bush leaves office with these thoughts in his mind indicates just how out of touch he is with reality. It was similar delusions of WMDs and quick ad easy wars that put Bush’s legacy in the mess it is in now.
