Are you already fed up with Obama’s choices for his cabinet or think his exit strategy from Iraq is too slow?
On January 20, you can have the opportunity to see if you can be a better President.
Interactive Gaming Software will release “Commander in Chief” on January 20, the day of Obama’s inauguration.
This isn’t a plug for this game. For all I know it may be a bug-laden software pogram. It did get me to consider the possibilities, and I’ll get to that.
In “Commander in Chief” player presidents make budget, health, education, military, diplomatic and other decisions in simulated environments. The players virtually live with the results of their choices.
The game provides information from 50 international organizations including the United Nations, G7, NATO, NAFTA and OPEC to create a real world scenario.
Players select cabinet members and face the same social, environmental, economic, energy, cultural, and military issues as the Obama administration does. Players can also lobby foreign leaders, invade neutral countries, topple unfriendly regimes, or plot assassinations.
Just imagine the possibilities of a president like simulator for Presidential debates? In 2000, we might have known what Al Gore would really have done about global warming if elected President or Bush’s desire to invade Iraq. In the last election, conservatives could find out if Obama really is a socialist or terrorist sympathizer. Voters could actually gauge if Sarah Palin was up to task to be President.
It wouldn’t surprise me if someday in the future we do try to test drive our Presidential candidates.
