For this week, Foolocracy’s “Fool of the Week” is Caroline Kennedy. Kennedy was selected because of her pursuit of an appointment to Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat and general lack of openness in that regard.
Kennedy said she would not release the financial records required of all Senators until she is selected as a Senator. She has also made herself generally unavailable to media. Furthermore, Kennedy has responded to questions about her positions on the issues only by a written reply. Perhaps the most significant disregard to the electoral process is the startling report that she has only voted about half the time in her adult life.
Kennedy thinks that her name alone is a guaranteed path to becoming a Senator. Hopefully, when New York Governor David Patterson makes his choice, Kennedy may find that it takes more than political lineage to become a Senator.
Here are two links from Foolocracy about Kennedy’s voting record and lack of financial openness.
