A new poll by the Chicago-based Glengariff Group gives Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich an 8% approval rating. That is down from 23% in September.
Seventy percent want him to resign and 73% favor impeachment.
Imagine…someone has a worse approval rating than George Bush or Dick Cheney.
The real question is who the hell are the 8%?
Crooks, crazies and relatives?
Maybe these people just awoke from a coma. Or possibly they are bald men envious of his hair. Or perhaps they just say “yes” to any question.
Is there one good reason that Blagojevich should stay in office?
Maybe the majority of these 8% think Blagojevich is a new Polish sausage or something.
The poll does have a margin of error of 4%. That means his favorability might be 4%. That sounds more bearable. Of course, it could also mean 12% like him.
Whatever it is, it does not seem to affect Blagojevich. He has shown no hint of resigning. On the contrary, he returned to his second full day of work Friday “upbeat positive.” His spokesman said, “There’s a sense of trying to return to normalcy.”
Normalcy? That must mean spitting profanity at everyone who crosses him in daily life and arraigning bribes without interference from the Feds.
Well, maybe that is the 8% — the people who do business with him, trading bribes for favors. I guess we should just be happy there aren’t more people who like Rod Blagojevich.
