Son Of Former Klan Leader Fights To Assume Palm Beach Republican Position

The Palm Beach County Republican Executive Committee has a little problem. 19-year-old Derek Black was elected to a seat on the committee. Normally, an enthusiastic and young political activist would be welcome. Not this time. The Republicans want to prevent Black from assuming his position.

Derek Black is the son of a former Klan leader. His father is Don Black, who runs one of the largest white supremacist websites in the country. Only they do not call it white supremacy.

“I’m not a white supremacist; that’s an insult,” said Black. “I would describe myself as a white person who is concerned about discrimination against white people.”

County GOP Chairman Sid Dinerstein has indicated he will do everything he can to stop Black from taking a seat on the committee.

“He participates in white supremacist activities,” Dinerstein said. “We’re the party of Lincoln. We’re the party that says we don’t judge anybody by the color of their skin.”

Dinerstein thinks he know how to keep Black out. Black did not sign a loyalty oath to the party. Black says that is only a formality. Dinerstein says it is a big deal for someone who sits on the executive committee of a political party.

About half-a-dozen other Republicans of the 100-person executive committee did not sign the loyalty oath either. Dinerstein plans to make examples of them in order to keep Black out. However, Black says he will sign the oath, even though it is past the deadline.

One other thing, David Duke, a former grand wizard of the KKK himself, has jumped in on the side of Black.

Duke wrote on his website, “Sid Dinerstein, a Jewish-extremist loyalist to Israel, has the chutzpah to think that he has the right to deny Derek Black his legally elected office because he doesn’t like Mr. Black’s views.”

What does Duke think about Black’s election and the possibility voters did not know whom they were electing?

“Irrelevant question,” Duke said. “He got the votes. He won election.”
