Suicide bombers have become deeply ingrained into some elements of Muslim society in the Middle East that they are not only being employed for political purposes, but to settle personal disputes.

A recent attack in Lahore, Pakistan involved the use of a suicide bomber who was paid about $15,000. The bomber was used in a dispute between two former friends and resulted in the deaths of 26 people.

It is one thing to confront religious or national fanaticism, but when people will cast their lives aside for monetary gain, presumably for their family, then the struggle becomes much more than winning hearts and minds.
