A year after the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and the Indian subcontinent is still riddled with the same problems it had a year ago, only now it is the tension from the Mumbai massacre added on top of it.
Bhutto, pro-American and secular, had widespread support among many of the disenfranchised in Pakistan. She was one of the best hopes for changing the culture of crisis that surrounds the area.
Her daughter, 18-year-old Bakthawar Bhutto, just released a rap song and video expressing her anguish over the loss of her mother.
The song “I Would Take the Pain Away” is a very public expression of loss not often found from political families.
The sound quality is a bit poor. A persistent buzz looms in the background, but it is listenable.
