The RAF has tried to shoot down UFO’s since the 1980′s according to Nick Pope, who worked in the UK’s Ministry of Defence’s UFO section. Pope said the pilots were give the order to shoot UFO’s if they perceived them as threatening — whatever that means.
”We know of cases where the order has been given to shoot down – with little effect to the UFO,” Pope said.
Obviously, no one in the British government has figured that if someone is coming from a planet thousands of light years away, then they are a wee bit more advanced than we are. Shooting projectiles at them is probably akin to throwing stones. If UFO’s are extraterrestrial, (and that is a big “if”) we really don’t want to tick-off a far more advanced civilization. I keep getting the image in my head of spear-throwing natives greeting European explorers.
The other alternative is that its just natural phenomenon, which makes the RAF pilots look like idiots shooting at balls of lightning or whatever. I doubt if it’s the Soviet’s or Russians either. If their aircraft could take fire from the RAF with no effect, then they would have won the Cold War.
“There was a faction in the MoD who said ‘We want to shoot down a UFO and that will resolve the issue one way or another’,” said Pope.
In other words, shoot first and figure it out later.

I have seen the craft Kenneth Arnold saw only it was glowing orange with a red light on the right and a green light on the left in the middle of the concave . I saw it twice at 10:30 and 11:00 pm respectively Mon. and Wed. several yrs. ago in Denver,Co.
Make that red on left and green on right.
