Final Bush Protest At White House Ends With Hurled Shoes

shoeswhiteouseGeorge Bush was given his final farewell by protesters outside the White House. About 500 protesters gathered to express their bitterness and disgust in one final protest to the outgoing President.

A 25-foot, inflated effigy of Bush, with a long Pinocchio-style nose, hung at Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. The protesters gathered and tossed their shoes at the effigy.

Afterwards, several hundred walked to the White House and threw  abou 40 pairs of shoes at the iron gates.

One banner read, “”I hated Bush before it was cool.”
