Sarah Obama, Barack Obama’s 86-year-old step-grandmother, is preparing to attend her grandson’s inaugural.
She has prepared gifts to present to the new President, including a three-legged stool and a Luo oxtail flywhisk. She wanted to bring a spear and shield from the Luo tribe as well. Those items will have to be left in Kenya, though.
“But I have been told that due to security reasons I will not be allowed to board a plane with it,” she explained.
