  • Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez can count Libya among his friends. Libya has named a new sports stadium after Chavez in honor of his battles against “the enemies of freedom.”
  • State Senator Mike Bennett of Florida wants unemployment benefit recipients to be drug tested.
  • An Albanian minister was fired after being caught on tape asking two young women to disrobe in exchange for government jobs. “She showed a lot of cleavage and was provocative, so I am telling you it would be hard for any man to resist,” said the minister.
  • Texas Senator Kay Hutchinson attacked earmarked spending, conveniently forgetting that she accounted for $150 million of it.
  • Upcoming North Korean elections, if they can be called that, are likely to present Kim Jong Il’s youngest son, 26-year-old Kim Jong Un, as his heir apparent.
  • Secretary of State Hillary Clinton presented a gift to the Russian foreign minister with a “reset” button inside, signaling a restart of Russian-American relations. Unfortunately, the Russian translator got the word wrong and identified the button as “overcharged.”
  • Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey is calling President Barack Obama the “abortion President” because of his intention to lift the ban on stem cell research.
  • Someone placed a dead goat outside New York Assemblyman Greg Ball’s home. A note making a vulgar reference to Ball was tied around its neck.
  • Two Canadian MPs never bothered to register their domain names.  Now their names are portals to sex and drug sites.
  • Two days after beginning a historic power sharing agreement in Zimbabwe with President Robert Mugabe, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai was hurt in a traffic accident. His wife was killed. Despite speculation of a Mugabe plot, the accident appears to be an accident.
