The new F-35 is a state-of-the-art military strike fighter. It is a joint strike force product developed by the United States, United Kingdom and other partner governments. It is stealth capable and comes in three models: conventional take-off, vertical take-off and carrier-based.
Just one problem.
The F-35 doesn’t operate properly in hot weather.
Because the F-3 is designed to be stealthy, it doesn’t have the usual air vents to discharge heat that might show up on enemy sensors.
The current F-35 has restricted range and may be a problem landing with weapons on board.
Developers are trying to fix the problem before the plane becomes available in 2011.
