- After a recount of 10% of the vote, Iran said that there were “few or no errors” and certified Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the winner.
- Former Birmingham, Alabama, city Councilman Bill Johnson is running for governor as a Republican. In 1994, he ran under the Libertarian Party banner for Senator on a platform legalizing drugs and prostitution. Johnson disavows those views now saying that at the time he was just being loyal to the party platform. Isn’t that why he was a Libertarian, because he believed in the party platform?
- South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford is comparing himself to Jimmy Stewart in “It’s A Wonderful Life.”
- Sanford also said that Maria Belen Chapur is his soul mate, but he is still trying to patch things up with his wife. I can’t imagine calling Chapur his soul mate goes over well in discussions with his wife.
- Congressman Michele Bachman wants to know why the census does not ask if the respondent is a citizen. Actually, it does.
- “Diva,” “whack job,” “little shop of horrors”-these are the descriptions used by McCain staffers to describe Sarah Palin.
- China has delayed the requirement that all computers sold in the country have internet-filtering software.
