East Cleveland Mayor Confronts Release Of Cross-Dressing Photos

No politician likes bad publicity right before an election. Unfortunately, East Cleveland Mayor Eric Brewer has just that problem.

Just days before the primary election with his opponent Gary Norton, apparent photos of Brewer dressed in woman’s clothing are making a stir in the Ohio city. Norton denied that his staff was involved in the release of the photos.

Brewer, who is at odds with the police department, blamed police officials for releasing the pictures.

Although Brewer has not admitted that the photos are of him, and demanded that proof be presented that the pictures “were actually of me, where they were taken, who took the pictures, when they were taken.”

Brewer also demanded proof of the rumors that the pictures were taken from his computer when it was sent in for repair.

Personally, I find it telling that Brewer has not categorically denied that the photos are of him.

East Cleveland has a reputation as a corrupt city in both politics and the police department, so, in a sense, Brewer’s cross-dressing is a mild distraction from its usual problems.

Still, a cross-dressing mayor who likes to pretty himself up in women’s undergarments may not be the image most residents have for a corruption-fighting mayor.

When I see things like this, I always have to wonder, why people who can be easily embarrassed in public allow photographs to be taken of them in embarrassing situations.

Just in case anyone doubts that these are pictures of a man, one of them supposedly has a clear view of a male appendage, but it is blurred out in all the photos I have seen.

I guess Brewer was caught up in the heat of the moment because he is quite relaxed and smiling freely at the cameraman or woman taking the pictures.

Actually, Brewer looks better as a woman than a man, although he could use a bit more cleavage.

I doubt if it will impress the voters, though.
