This week’s crazy idea goes to Muammar Gaddafi. Because he did not like the Swiss arresting his son, Hannibal, for whipping a maid, Gaddafi thinks Switzerland should cease to exist.
Gaddafi thinks that the Swiss really are not a separate people but Germans, French and Italians who became mixed up in the Alps and started their own country. Naturally, he thinks the country should be split into those three nations.
Gaddafi conveniently forgets that that those German, French and Italian people got along fine in the first half of the twentieth century while the rest of the European continent was mass murdering each other.
It is amazing that he has stayed in power for 40 years with the wacko things that float in his brain.
