HimalayanblackbearTwo terrorists from the Kashmir militant group Hizbul Mujahideen met an unexpected death in the Kashmir wilderness recently.

Hizbul Mujahideen is based in Pakistan and not considered a terrorist group there. However, European nations, the United States and India do consider the group a terrorist organization.

Kashmir has been a long disputed region occupied by India but with a Muslim majority.

The two terrorists, armed with AK-47’s, ammunition and other weapons, holed themselves up in a cave. Apparently, they felt safe from Indian army patrols and dozed asleep.

Unfortunately, they found a foe much more deadly than the Indian army – a Himalayan Black Bear.

The cave was apparently the home of the bear who pounced on the sleeping terrorists, killing both before they could fire of a single round.

“It attacked the armed militants and killed them on the spot,” said Lt. Col. J. S. Brar, spokesman for the Indian army.

When soldiers from the Indian army finally happened on the site, they found ID cards identifying the two as members of Hizbul Mujahideen. The two should have known better since they appear to have been active in the area for five years.
