The Italian edition of Rolling Stone magazine selected Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi as its “Rock Star of the Year.”
You may wonder what a 73-year-old Prime Minister has to do with rock and roll. It is all in the lifestyle.
“This year the choice was unanimous, due to a lifestyle for which the words ‘rock and roll’ fall short,” said Carlo Antonelli, the magazine’s editor.
“Rod Stewart, Brian Jones, and Keith Richards in their prime were novices compared to him.”
With a divorce, call girls and an involvement with an 18-year-old model, Berlusconi lives a turbulent lifestyle indeed.
Actually, the Italian billionaire and media magnate has a musical background to lay some claim to the title. He is a former double bass player and cruise ship singer. He has written songs for two Neapolitan song albums as well as the anthem for his political party and a soccer club that he owns.
But it is still all about the lifestyle.
