Barack_ObamaAt first, Fidel Castro welcomed the election of Barack Obama. Castro now says that Obama’s true motives have been revealed. Calling Obama the “Nobel War Prize” winner, Castro expressed his growing dislike with the Obama administration.

As recently as October, Castro called Obama a “smart and cultivated man” who wanted to rescue America.

Now all that has changed.

“The empire’s real intentions are obvious, this time beneath the kindly smile and African American face of Barack Obama.”

Obama “vacillates and is weak in the face of a blind and irresponsible oligarchy in that country,” stated Castro.

Part of the problem is that the thaw between Cuba and the United States imagined in the spring is no longer likely. Both sides have blamed each other for postponements on coming to terms with immigration issues. Recently, the Obama administration lashed out at the harassment of Cuba’s top dissident blogger Yoani Sanchez.

Those are some of the reasons that Obama’s smile no longer seems “kindly” to Castro.

Castro called Obama’s policies “the same as Bush’s.”

Prior to Obama’s acceptance speech in Oslo, Castro said, “Now we have to listen to another theatrical speech in Oslo, a new compendium of phrases that mask the existence of an imperial hyper-power.”
