Iranian Television Bans Makeup

Do you remember last week’s story about the Bulgarian scientist who claimed that aliens were here, and that he was trying to communicate with them by reading crop circles?

If you don’t recall, here is the link to the story.

The whole story was odd, but one of the odder parts was that the aliens do not like us earthlings wearing cosmetics.

Well, now comes this story from Iran that I found from the Washington Post.

Mahmoud_AhmadinejadalienIran’s state television will ban makeup for women, “abnormal” music and unruly children, an Iranian newspaper reported Wednesday.

The broadcaster’s top manager, Ezzatollah Zarghami, told his managers that female presenters wearing makeup are to be taken off air, saying the wearing of makeup was against the law — even though millions of women in this country use it. He said there “should be no insulting of family elders by children.”

If you ask me, the Iranian mullahs have always been a little out of this world. Could it be that ET wears a burka? Yeh, probably not.

It could explain a lot though.
