- Rush Limbaugh praised the American health care system while in a Hawaiian hospital for a couple of days during the last week. What he did not mention is that Hawaii has the most socialized system of any of the 50 states and, with its near universal healthcare, resembles the Obama health care plan.
- The swearing in of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg got a bit confusing when he forgot to put his hand on the Bible. Although it did not matter, Bloomberg apparently realized too late that his left arm hung from his side while he recited the oath. After finishing the oath, Bloomberg swiped at the Bible as if its touch was necessary to bequeath his new term as mayor.
Nearly bankrupt Dubai is ready to unveil the world’s tallest building. At 2,600 feet it easily surpasses the next tallest in Taiwan at 1,666. The right to claim the world’s tallest building cost $1 billion.- Israel claims that Iran can build a nuclear bomb by 2011.
- India is the latest nation to begin development of anti-satellite weapons.
