- A British MP, who went on a reality television series to learn how the poor live, was given £64.30 to live on for a week. However, MP Nadine Dorries slipped an extra £50 note into her bra. The extra cash was discovered and Dorries claimed it was just so she could buy gifts for her kids.
- Former Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson revealed that he was concerned that John McCain might oppose the TARP bailout during the Presidential campaign and bring down the Bush administrations plans for halting the economic slide.
Topless women protested during the voting for Ukrainian President by proclaiming the “rape of democracy.”
- Texas lawmakers are trying to make the state capitol safer. Some want to prohibit guns while others want to make it easier to carry firearms.
- This week is the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution in Iran. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is promising a “punch” to stun the world’s powers.
- Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann wants to “wean” everyone off of social security and Medicare.
- The Birther movement may have started on the left with die-hard Hillary Clinton supporters.
- The San Francisco judge who is hearing the constitutionality of Proposition 8 happens to be gay.
- Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, now a candidate for governor, appears to be calling for an armed insurrection. “If we wish to be free, we must fight!…Would it be when we are told to disarm and a UN guard is stationed outside every house?”
- President Obama’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, will be allowed to stay in the U.S. while her deportation proceedings play out.
