I never understand why some people think God has to punish humans all the time. There is Pat Robertson who claims the Haitian earthquake is a result of the Haitian people making a deal with the devil. There is an Iranian cleric who claims earthquakes are caused by women in revealing clothing. Then there are the people from Westboro Church in Kansas who go around the country linking every disaster as God’s wrath on homosexuality.

Well, here is a new one.

Last weekend in Texas, state Rep. Leo Berman said, “I believe that Barack Obama is God’s punishment on us today.”

What did we do to deserve this punishment? Who knows? Maybe it was electing George Bush President for eight years.
