Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a hard interview. In a sometimes difficult give-and-take with George Stephanopoulos, Ahmadinejad repeatedly asked Stephanopoulos to repeat himself and clarify his questions. Ahmadinejad then responded with questions himself or obtuse references.
Nothing matched the end of the interview when Stephanopoulos asked Ahmadinejad if Bin Laden was holed up in Tehran.
Ahmadinejad called the claim “laughable.”
He then proceeded to say that he had heard that Bin Laden was in Washington, D.C., because George W. Bush and Bin Laden were former business partners.
As Stephanopoulos continued to press a “yes” or “no” answer, which Ahmadinejad appears to have a resistance to on most everything, the Iranian President left the interview with his jesting claim, “Rest assured that he’s (Bin Laden) in Washington.”
