Charlie Rangel on Weiner: At Least He Wasn’t Going Out with Little Boys

Charlie Rangel, expert on ethics violations

With supporters like fellow New York Congressman Charlie Rangel on his side, Anthony Weiner doesn’t need political enemies.

Rangel is one of the few members of Congress to support Weiner’s decision not to resign his seat. Rangel, who was censored last year for ethics violations over financial manners, knows what it’s like to face pressure over wrongdoing. The problem is that Weiner is better off without Rangel watching his back with statements like these.

Rangel said Weiner “wasn’t going with prostitutes. He wasn’t going out with little boys.”

Nope, no hookers, no little boys, just pics of Weiner’s junk in his underwear and at least one baring all to the world. Then there are the email exchanges with a 17-year-old high school junior, but at least those messages seem to have nothing improper about them. Of course, his messages had nothing to do with what a Congressman should be saying to a high school junior, like study up on your government courses.

Weiner is going to take a leave of absence while he goes into some therapy. That’s good. We all need it.
