Okay, he didn’t actually pull a Marie Antoinette, but Herman Cain might as well have.
He thinks that the protests are a cover-up for the Obama administration’s failures. He claims that it is anti-capitalist. Then Cain turns on the protesters personally.
“If you don’t have a job and you are not rich, blame yourself,” Cain said.
That’s right if you are one of the 9% of the unemployed or 18% of African-Americans unemployed, then this recession is your fault. Quit your whining and get rich.
But I like this line because who cares about facts when you can be president.
“I don’t have facts to back this up, but I happen to believe that these demonstrations are planned and orchestrated, to distract from the failed policies of the Obama administration.”
Most Americans might be living a well-off life, but most Americans are not rich. Apparently, Cain thinks that all Americans should be rich if they just worked hard. It is a hard scenario to imagine if everyone was rich. Who would wash the dishes, pull the weeds or pick up the garbage? The poorer millionaires?
What an asinine thing for Cain to say. It shows an utter lack of sensitivity and understanding of society. It doesn’t even bode well for Cain’s grasp of economics. This is like calling for the opposite of a classless communist society. In this case, it is a classless society where everyone is rich.
Cain might as well wish for Christmas every day and the Easter Bunny to bear gifts every Sunday. He is out of touch and arrogant, just like Marie Antoinette.
I don’t have the facts to back this up, but I think this man is a blowhard idiot. On second thought, I do have the facts — just listen to his own words.
