Richard Cebull
Montana U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull said that he isn’t a fan of Barack Obama, but that still doesn’t explain his racist and disgusting email. Cebull forwarded an email to several friends that Cebull should have had the sense to send directly to the trash.
“Normally I don’t send or forward a lot of these, but even by my standards, it was a bit touching. I want all of my friends to feel what I felt when I read this. Hope it touches your heart like it did mine.
“A little boy said to his mother; ‘Mommy, how come I’m black and you’re white?’” the email joke reads. “His mother replied, ‘Don’t even go there Barack! From what I can remember about that party, you’re lucky you don’t bark!’”
That’s touching alright, like a slap in the face.
While Cebull agreed that the email was racist, he said that he is not. Cebull also said that the email was never intended to be public. He said that he sent it only because it was anti-Obama.
Cebull can explain all he wants, but there is no excuse for this type of bad judgment. By forwarding it, he gave his approval. Just imagine a minority, especially an African-American, who appears before him; Cebull’s impartiality and fairness are now in doubt.
