Sheriff Joe Arpaio, also known as the Inspector Clouseau of the Arizona desert, is still hot on the trail of the fraudulent birth certificate. Holding another press conference, Arpaio and his crack posse led by Mike Zullo have determined that Barack Obama’s birth certificate is “definitely fraudulent.”

Arpaio’s posse located 95-year-old Verna Lee, who signed the President’s birth certificate. “Mistakes doesn’t happen on my watch,” Lee explained to a man who was introduced as a “reporter” assisting in the posse’s investigation.

That reporter happened to be Jerome Corsi, one of the most prominent birthers in the country, who has written books on the birther cause, against Obama, in support of the swift boating of John Kerry in 2004 and friendly to 9/11 conspiracies.

Corsi interviewed Lee to get information from her regarding codes found on the Obama birth certificate. Lee explained the codes to Corsi but they did not fit with the birth certificate’s text. That is when she said that she does not make mistakes. Thus, suggesting that the birth certificate may have been altered.

Yes, that is the compelling new evidence — memories from a 95-year-old woman that are over 50 years old.

Arpaio made sure that those attending his press conference understood that he is not accusing the president of wrong doing. Arpaio suggested that it was a relative of Obama’s who may have altered the birth certificate.

The State of Hawaii quickly responded to Arpaio’s newest accusations, summarized in their own words as the following:

The State of Hawaii has repeatedly confirmed the indisputable evidence of President Obama’s birth in Hawaii…President Obama was born in Honolulu, and his birth certificate is valid. Regarding the latest allegations from a sheriff in Arizona, they are untrue, misinformed, and misconstrue Hawaii law.

That is a nice jab from Hawaiian officials who ignored Arpaio by name, instead referring to him as “a sheriff in Arizona.”

Thankfully, Arpaio said that his investigation is complete. He urged Congress to take up the matter though.

This means Arpaio will have to return to the real business of his sheriff’s department, which includes criticism over the bungling of hundreds of sex crimes and charges from the Justice Department of racial profiling.

At this point, there is little more to do with Arpaio but plant a facepalm and walk away shaking one’s head while trying not to laugh too loud.
