Texas County Judge Tom Head has an explanation for his comments about a reelected Barack Obama allowing the UN to invade. He was merely suggesting a “worst-case scenario.”
“My remarks yesterday: worst-case scenario in my opinion. And how do you prepare for it?” he said at a County Commissioner Meeting, according to Fox 34 in Lubbock. “Do I think those (scenarios) are going to happen, probably not.”
Actually, a worst-case scenario would be the Mars lander Curiosity firing its laser at moon rocks and pissing off Martians who then come to earth in a 2012 version of War of the Worlds.
Both of those scenarios have about the same probability of happening, which are remarkably close to the likelihood that Head will get a grip on reality.
The video has an in-depth look at Head’s comments and reaction from the locals. Those reactions range from a fellow politician who thinks that its time for Head to take a fishing trip to a lawyer who suggested that Head is off his meds.
The scary reaction comes from locals who believe as Head does. They have bought into the lunacy that Obama will turn the country over to his UN overlords.
There are enough real threats to worry about in the world from terrorists to the Iranians to homegrown American crazies shooting up public places. Instead, there are elected officials scrambling around the country with conspiracies on par with any birther, 9/11 or faked moon landing tale.
The first 1:40 seconds or so of the video is about local issues, particularly the local sales tax that generated this controversy. The remaining five-plus minutes is loaded with comments that would be funny if they were not so alarming.
