Weird is the best way to describe this. Weird because why would any school officials in Oklahoma City care if their students wear clothing with the names of a non-Oklahoma school or professional sports team? Yet that is what a school principal found offensive in a kindergartener wearing a University of Michigan shirt. The child was forced to remove the shirt and turn it inside out. No kidding.
Suddenly it makes sense why there is an abundance of stupid anti-science legislation coming from The Sooner state. Education is not a priority.
For awhile it was difficult to figure out why Oklahoma was so concerned that Sharia law was going to take over the state that it had to be banned or that anti-evolution laws were proposed in the state legislature. That is a lot clearer now, as is the fact that only 23% of Oklahoma’s high school students know that George Washington was the first president. It seems that the only thing that matters in the Oklahoma City school system is Oklahoma.
