Cenk Uygur makes a point here that I haven’t seen emphasized elsewhere. Non-religious voters, whether they be atheists, agnostics or simply those who don’t affiliate with religion but are spiritual, played a critical role in the reelection of Barack Obama.
While Obama was losing Protestant and Catholic voters by 5 to 15%, he was winning non-religious voters by 70% or more. This is another demographic trending away from the Republican electorate. Surprisingly, no one is talking about. Talk about it or not, the results are clear cut.
