Upon returning from the African Union summit in Egypt, Gambian President Yahya Jammeh called the Zimbabwe elections “valid”. He also stated that Africans should stand against pressure from the West. Jammeh called Morgan Tsavangirai, the Zimbabwe opposition leader, “a blue eyed-boy and puppet of the West.”
