A CBS clip suggests that the real reason for the Al and Tipper Gore split after 40 years of marriage is his loss in the 2000 Presidential election. Understandably, it haunts Gore.

It remains surprising and unusual for a couple of 40 years to split. Who would have bet that Bill and Hillary would be married past the Gores?

There is a link here to a Real Clear Politics video that places the blame on that election loss.

It makes for something new to blame on George Bush. At least no one has placed the collapse of the marriage on another woman.

If true, that would eliminate the problem of cold feet. Of course, nothing would be alive on earth as it would be a sun. The earth is actually 5,000 to 9,000 degrees.

That was enough to make Gore “Fool of the Week.”

I am sure after the ridicule of the last week that Gore realizes the difference now.

Gore’s misstep points out why the best spokespersons for scientific issues are scientists. Unfortunately, most scientists present themselves as spokespersons as well as Gore presents scientific facts.

As the world’s leading voice against global warming, Gore should really know better. His error was not just one of getting a fact wrong, it violated common sense. Then again, that is exactly what a fool does.

In this interview with Conan O’Brien, Al Gore states that “the interior of the earth is extremely hot, several million degrees.”

I am going to assume Gore just made a gaffe and does not really believe that. The interior of the earth is several thousands of degrees, somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000. The interior of the sun is several million of degrees.

If the earth’s interior was that hot, the earth would be a sun.

Scalia’s memory is a little weak or just convenient. The first court case was filed by Palm Beach voters in state court. The first Federal suit was filed by the Bush-Cheney campaign. Sorry Antonin, you are still responsible for your votes.
